Week 4: CLAY & COLOUR: Surf the Rainbow

Come along for a ride as we surf the rainbow and play with clay!
Make clay friezes and relief-works as you imagine all things City and Country with artist Lux Habrich. Work collaboratively and independently to create handmade clay works inspired by the places where we live and play.
Surf the Rainbow with Agne Kubiliute. Learn about the basics of colour theory using the colour wheel as you discover both the science and magic of colour. Painting, building, and collage techniques will show you the power of colour and light in art.

About the Instructors:

Lux Habrich is an interdisciplinary artist with a focus on tactile craft processes, often using clay, ceramics and repurposed textiles infused with history and meaning to create sculptural works of art that reflect the complexities of her mixed-race identity and immigrant heritage. Her long-term career goals involve working as an art therapist to empower vulnerable and marginalized populations. She holds a BFA from NSCAD University.
Agne Kubiliute (MA in Art History, Germany) is a multi-disciplinary artist/art educator based in Halifax, who has been teaching art and working on diverse art projects for the past 10 years. Lately, she has been designing and facilitating studio workshops at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia for children and youth on the autism spectrum. Agne draws her inspiration from a natural world, likes creating art from found and recycled materials and enjoys working with children, youth and young adults with diverse needs and backgrounds.
