Talks & Tours

Join Curator Dianne O'Neill, Associate Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, and Arthur Smith, former Head Librarian at the Royal Ontario Museum for an engaging talk and tour on the Transatlantique exhibition, George Barbier, fashion and costume designer in Paris, with his colleagues served an elite clientele on both sides of the Atlantic. This exhibition presents exquisite prints and drawings by George Barbier, gifted to the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia by Arthur Smith, which reveal connections between Parisian fashion prints during the Art Deco period in the early 1900s, and later designs for both streetwear and the stage by Halifax's artists Marjorie Tozer and Robert Doyle.
